Some things you need to take for your trip:
Some Obvious Things:
Are you going camping? Then don't forget:
| · |
Tent (pretty NB for the camping scene) |
| · |
Chairs (no one likes to stand around all day) |
| · |
Cutlery |
| · |
Rope (don't ask me what for, but you'll find something to do with it!)
|
| · |
Dishwashing liquid |
| · |
Sugar, long life milk and tea/coffee |
| · |
Sleeping bag and pillow |
| · |
Lamp |
| · |
Skottel (nothing better then eggs and bacon after a solid dawny) |
| · |
Spatula, tongs, pots, oil etc |
If you are going to a backpackers:
| · |
Cereal or whatever else you want for breakfast. Some backpackers offer breakfasts but most just give you a kitchen to do your own thing |
| · |
You don't really need much for backpackers other then your food and general clothes etc. |
Random info: Backpackers are generally pretty mellow places. You might meet people from all over the world which is cool. If you are looking for a bit of privacy then you are probably not in the right place because you are sharing a dorm with a bunch of strangers. Try speaking to the owners about where some secret surf spots are, that's only going to benefit you!!

Surfboard/s (wow, really?) We recommend that you find out the general swell patterns for the time of year that you plan to travel. In general, South Africa gets big groundswell in winter so a spare gun would be a good idea whereas in Summer you may want to take a fish for the flatter, onshore days. |
| · |
Wetsuit |
| · |
Wax |
| · |
Spare leash (would be a bummer if your leash broke on the first day) |
